RaQia Lowo

RaQia was born and raised in Harlem, NY. She has two adult sons whom she calls her Boyz2Men. She has worked with children for over 20 years and is the founder of Motivational Educators, LLC an academic mentoring company for students. Not having books with characters that looked like her growing up, she is currently writing stories to help kids see themselves on the page. She is a member of #BlackCreatorsInKidLit and SCBWI.

RaQia loves; being in the presence of children, baking, laughter, music, dance, culture, and all things creative.
